Five new Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) were sworn in by Judge John Wolf to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Before administering the oath, Judge Wolf emphasized the vital role CASA volunteers play in supporting the court by offering an unbiased perspective centered on each child’s best interests. Jenn Nydahl has lived in the Gorge for five years and completed her training as a CASA volunteer in April 2025, when she was sworn in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Her motivation for volunteering came from witnessing upheaval around the world and feeling powerless. She realized that becoming a CASA volunteer advocate was a meaningful way to take action and make a positive difference in the life of a child.

Hands down, the best part about being a CASA advocate is seeing the child every month. I think we both really look forward to these visits.
