Over the past fiscal year, Columbia Gorge CASA served 100 children—the highest number since the pandemic—but the nonprofit still has a waitlist of children that could benefit from having an advocate.

Columbia Gorge CASA proudly unveiled its newest playhouse for raffle at Maupin Daze. This year’s playhouse was handcrafted by students in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program at South Wasco County High School. Proceeds from the raffle will support Columbia Gorge CASA’s mission of advocating for abused and neglected children throughout the Columbia Gorge.

Soon after settling in the Gorge, Elise connected with Columbia Gorge CASA and was thrilled to discover that a virtual volunteer training class would begin that fall. The timing felt perfect. During the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly online classes gave her a meaningful way to spend her time while preparing for her advocacy.
