More than 200 runners, walkers, and community members registered for the Columbia Gorge CASA Fall Family Run, presented by McDonald’s of the Gorge. The event took place on Saturday, October 4th, at the scenic Mark O. Hatfield Trailhead in Hood River.
The event united seasoned runners, families, inviduals in costumes, and local supporters for a lively celebration of movement, connection, and purpose—all in support of CASA’s advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties.
Before the race began, participants got moving with a fun, high-energy warm-up led by Jill Catherine of the Gorge Leadership Institute. Along the course, Studio Fit kept everyone hydrated with water stations, while McDonald’s rewarded finishers with a well-deserved breakfast at the finish line.
Participants had the option to join a non-timed 1-mile run/walk or challenge themselves in the timed 5K.
Top 5K Finishers:
Men’s Division 🥇 Victor Coffman – 18:00 (5:47 pace) 🥈 Jeff Fisher – 19:08 🥉 Cael Price – 20:44

Costumes, Community & Cause
The Fall Family Run wasn’t just about running—a festive costume contest brought extra color and creativity to the event. Prizes were awarded for best dog, adult, and child costumes.
“We are thrilled by the turnout and the incredible energy our Gorge community brings to supporting CASA,” said Executive Director Christopher Janetzko. “Whether people came to run, walk, or volunteer, their participation is helping us stand up for the most vulnerable children in our region.”
